AI technology offers unprecedented opportunities for professionals working with design and video. This course guides designers, videomakers, and visual storytellers to harness the power of generative AI from initial ideation to moodboarding, production, and final video editing.
Through hands-on exercises, you’ll learn to use a wide range of AI applications and create a project with compelling images, structured visual narratives, sound, voice-overs, color correction, and AI-enhanced edits. Upon completion of the course, you'll be able to confidently use AI tools for image generation, video creation, and editing across a range of professional creative projects.
The course comprises 5 live sessions conducted over 4 weeks (online). The weekly evening classes (2h/week) are comprised of demos, practical assignments, discussions, and feedback. We estimate a maximum study time of 10 hours/week for four weeks. This means you can easily combine the course with a full-time job. Our classes are small and interactive, and we encourage students to keep their cameras on at all times and participate in discussions.
Week 1: Introduction to AI in the creative process
This week sets the foundation for using AI in creative workflows. You'll explore how AI tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney, Grok or Perplexity can help with research and ideation. You will submit a detailed concept or storyboard for a short video or visual project to be developed throughout the course.
Week 2: Refining the vision with mood boards
The second week focuses on refining your creative vision through AI-driven research and mood board creation. You'll learn advanced features and techniques on Midjourney to curate references effectively and define the aesthetic, mood, and tone of your project. Special attention will be given to visual storytelling, composition, and theme consistency.
Week 3: AI Video production, editing, and refinement
The final course week includes 2 live sessions. One to help you bring your static visuals to life through AI-powered video generation, and one to learn final editing with AI.
1. AI video production and integration
You'll experiment with AI-generated video clips, explore techniques for combining them with traditional footage, and develop short-form content that aligns with your project's vision. The primary tool will be Veo 2 (through Freepik).
2: Professional Editing and Refinement
You’ll learn how to integrate AI sound design, perform AI color correction, and apply AI-assisted edits to enhance the quality of your final video. Primary tools are DaVinci Resolve and ElevenLabs.
Week 4: Final Techniques & Project Presentations
Students will showcase their projects, receive peer and instructor feedback, and reflect on their creative journey. This session also provides insights into future AI advancements and applications in creative industries.
